Product information
The sweater is worked from the top down with a single thread. First, stitches are cast on for the yoke, which is worked back and forth, while increasing for raglan and neckline. When the increases for the neckline are complete, the piece is joined together and worked in the round in stocking stitch with increases for raglan. When all the stitches have been increased, the piece is divided into sleeves, front and back pieces, and the pieces are finished separately. Finally, the neckline is worked in rib, folded double and sewn to the wrong side.
Sweater from the bottom up with single thread. First, stitches are cast on for the front and back piece, which are worked in the round to under the sleeves. Then, stitches are cast on for the sleeves, which are worked from the bottom up separately, before being joined to the front and back piece. When the piece is assembled, it is worked in the round and cast off to form raglan. Finally, the neckline is worked in rib, folded double and sewn to the wrong side.
Hoodie: You start with the hood, which is knitted from the top down. You cast on stitches using Judy’s magic cast on, so that you don’t have a visible seam on the top of the head. If you want a more beginner-friendly version, you can cast on stitches using regular cast on and sew together at the end. The hood is shaped with reverse rows, increases and decreases. You then knit stitches along the face, where you knit an edge in rib. Finally, you cast on stitches for the neck, which you knit together with the stitches from the hood, and knit in the round in rib.
Stitch and belt: Cast on stitches and work the stitch back and forth in garter stitch to create eyeholes. To create eyeholes, divide the piece in half and work two separate strips with decreases and increases. Once the two eyeholes are worked, continue working the stitch back and forth in garter stitch to the full length. Finally, braid cords that are attached to each side of the stitch. Work the belt back and forth in garter stitch to the desired length. We have knitted it long enough so that it hangs down the side after tying it at the waist.
